Aug 22 (Reuters) - Hurricane Henri is heading towards southern New England and Long Island and is currently located at less than 150 miles (241 km) south-southeast of Long Island in New York state, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Sunday.
"A dangerous storm surge, hurricane conditions, and flooding rainfall are expected in portions of the northeast United States beginning Sunday morning," the agency said in its latest advisory.
By 2 a.m. ET (0600 GMT), it added, Henri was witnessing maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 kph).
