There are 8,000 homeless people in Ireland today, 3000 of which are children. This number is increasing, 78 families were made homeless in Dublin alone last month. Rents have increased by 60% in Dublin in the last five years while wages have increased an average of just 1-2%. There are only 3,000 residential units available in Ireland today.
