TACLOBAN, Philippines (Thomson Reuters Foundation) – One year after Typhoon Haiyan, the strongest storm on record to ever hit land, devastated central Philippines, the worst-hit city of Tacloban is getting back on its feet again.
After the Nov. 8, 2013 storm, the city was a dystopian wasteland - bodies on roadsides, debris everywhere, flattened homes as far as the eye could see, and thousands of people queuing at the airport for the next flight out.
On my recent visit to Tacloban, my third since the Typhoon struck, I met many people committed to rebuilding Tacloban, and many still suffering deep emotional scars You can read about them in my blog.
