MAE LA REFUGEE CAMP, Thailand (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Of the nine Burmese refugee camps along the Thai-Myanmar border, Mae La in Tak province is the largest. It houses around 43,000 people - a third of the 120,000 Burmese refugees in Thailand, according to the latest figures from The Border Consortium, a non-governmental organisation working in the camps.
