TrustLaw Connect Director Maria Sanchez-Marin was in Mexico City 2-7 July where she met with the Foundation's Mexican legal members: Jauregui y Navarrete and Creel, Garcia-Cuellar, Aiza y Enriquez, Basham and Ringe y Correa. She also met with the Hewlett Packard Mexican legal team, who want to participate in more pro bono projects.
Maria also reached out to law firms Von Wobeser y Sierra and Arochi, Marroquín & Lindner, which were very interested in TrustLaw. She also approached Mijares Angoita Cortes y Fuentes, Goodrich Riquelme y Asociados and Santamarina y Steta.
Maria was delighted to see a civil sector strengthened over the past 12 years in the country with more and more local NGOs and social enterprises working to address the key challenges Mexico faces today like the lack of access to information and transparency, violence against women and children or security and migration issues. Maria also met with the TELMEX, Hewlett, Ford and Avina Foundations.
