Oct 16 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1830 GMT on Saturday:

* Denotes new development.

* The Swedish military said in statement that one Swedish soldier died in Afghanistan on Saturday. His armoured personnel carrier was blown up by an IED. Two other soldiers were wounded but their injuries were not life threatening. The incident took place west of Mazar-i-Sharif.

KABUL - A service member from the NATO-led force was killed in an improvised device explosion in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, ISAF said in a statement. It did not provide details on the victim's nationality. More than 40 foreign troops have been killed in insurgent attacks so far this month.

URUZGAN - Two civilians were killed and seven were wounded when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb on Friday in Deh Rawood district of southern Uruzgan province, the Afghan Interior Ministry said.

ZABUL - Nine civilians, including three women and one child, were killed and two civilians were wounded when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb in southern Zabul province on Friday, the Afghan Interior Ministry said.
