THE HAGUE, Oct 19 (Reuters) - The International Criminal Court (ICC) on Tuesday ruled it will pursue the war crimes trial of Congolese warlord Jean-Pierre Bemba, rejecting an appeal from his lawyers to dismiss the case.
Lawyers for Bemba, the highest-profile suspect so far brought before the Hague-based court, had argued he had already been investigated in the Central African Republic and could not be prosecuted twice for the same crime. (Reporting by Bate Felix; Editing by Janet Lawrence)
