Nov 18 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 0400 GMT on Thursday:

HELMAND - A British soldier from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed by insurgent gunfire while on patrol in Gereshk district of southern Helmand province on Wednesday, the British Defence Ministry said, adding that next of kin had been informed.

KABUL - An ISAF service member was killed by a homemade bomb in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday, ISAF said. It gave no further details.
