KABUL, Dec 5 (Reuters) - Two foreign troops were killed on Sunday by an explosion outside a base used by the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in southeastern Afghanistan, a spokesman for ISAF said.

The cause of the blast is still being investigated, said Major S. Justin Platt, a spokesman for ISAF in the province. It happened near an entry to the base in Gardez, the provincial capital of Paktia province.

Earlier, a spokesman for the governor of Paktia said two Afghan civilians were also killed in the explosion which happened in a small shopping area outside the base.
