GENEVA, Dec 7 (Reuters) - International concerns about Tehran's nuclear programme were the focus of two days of talks between six major powers and Iran, European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said on Tuesday.

She told a news conference in Geneva that the six powers she represented at the talks -- the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany -- were determined to resolve those concerns.

Iran has sought to broaden the talks to other security issues, and Ashton said the six powers were ready to seek common ground with it on areas of common interest. She said the two sides will meet again in Istanbul in late January. (Reporting by David Brunnstrom; Writing by Jonathan Lynn)
