Dec 9 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan by 0400 GMT on Thursday.

KABUL - A service member with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) died following an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan on Thursday, ISAF said in a statement that gave no further details.

BADGHIS - ISAF forces killed several insurgents in an air strike in northwestern Badghis province on Wednesday aimed at a "senior Taliban leader", ISAF said. It was not clear if the targeted militant was among those killed, the statement said.

The Taliban could not be reached immediately for comment about the report.
