KABUL, Dec 13 (Reuters) - A group of about 100 Afghan lawmakers demanded on Monday President Hamid Karzai inaugurate a new parliament by Dec. 19, almost three weeks after final results of a fraud-marred parliamentary election were declared.

Afghanistan has effectively been without a parliament since the Sept. 18 vote, a worrying sign of political instability as Washington finalises a review of its Afghanistan war strategy.

There have been reports of the attorney general&${esc.hash}39;s office asking the Supreme Court to annul the election but the group of parliamentarians also said neither body had any authority "to interfere in the election process".
