Dec 18 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1300 GMT on Saturday.

* KAPISA - Afghan soldiers and troops from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) repelled an attack on a vehicle checkpoint in the Tagab district of Kapisa province north of Kabul, killing more than five insurgents, on Friday, ISAF said in a statement. The checkpoint came under heavy fire from snipers, recoilless rifles, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms, it said.

* KANDAHAR - A suicide car bomber killed two Afghan civilians in a failed attack on a district chief in southern Kandahar province, a spokesman for the Kandahar governor said. The district official was unhurt. ISAF said 11 children were wounded.

KABUL - An ISAF service member was killed by insurgents in eastern Afghanistan, the coalition said in a statement. No further details were available.
