India's SBI denies searches by federal agency in 2G case
NEW DELHI - State Bank of India, the country's top lender, on Wednesday denied a TV report the federal investigating agency was searching its offices in a case related to allocation of mobile phone licences.
ET NOW television channel had said the Central Bureau of Investigation was conducting searches in some offices of the SBI and other banks as part of the 2G mobile licence allocation probe.

Third Kabul bomb attack in a month kills two
KABUL - A suicide bomber on a motorbike killed two people and wounded more than 35 near the Afghan parliament on Wednesday, officials said, the third bomb attack in the capital Kabul in less than a month.
Violence is at its worst since U.S.-backed Afghan forces overthrew the hardline Islamist Taliban in 2001 after it refused to hand over al Qaeda militants, including Osama bin Laden, following the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States.

U.S. vice president arrives in Pakistan for talks
ISLAMABAD - U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will pressure Pakistan to intensify its crackdown on militants in talks on Wednesday with Pakistan's leadership, but will tread carefully to avoid further straining ties.
Biden arrived in Islamabad after two days in Kabul, where he said on Tuesday that Pakistan needed to do more to help the United States in its battle against Taliban and other militants in Afghanistan as it prepares to withdraw its troops from there. (Compiled by World Desk Asia, +65 6870-3815)
