There is a PMI Hagglund at Sekatenan Yogyakarta!

One PMI Hagglund was parked not far from the Night Market area Perayan Sekatenan (PMPS) in Yogyakarta Palace Square. Do not be fooled, there are many people gathered to look at this unique-shaped vehicle and took a picture together with Hagglund PMI. Amphibious all-terrain vehicle owned by PMI that has helped in Merapi evacuation process, helped to enliven the Sekatenan Celebration event in Yogyakarta Palace Square, from 17 to 21 January 2011. A routine celebration held by the Yogyakarta people to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

In this event, PMI open an exhibition stand complete with a variety of display program. Starting from the display of equipment for disaster relief and first aid, various brochures related guidance program about volunteers, blood donors, health care, psychosocial services, and the Restoring Family Links program. Including one of them, display PMI mock-bamboo houses that also attracted enough attention.

In addition to featuring a variety of PMI services, the PMI Volunteer Business Unit of Yogyakarta also showcase their work, among other first aid equipment (long spinal board, wooden splint), t-shirts, pins, key chains, and others. The visitors can buy with an affordable price.

Not only small-scale trade, PMI Yogyakarta also performed a brief demo that shows the action of practical first aid for emergency cases. This brief demo was able to seize the attention of visitors of the exhibition to stop by and listen for a moment.

Throughout the exhibition, members of the Volunteer Corps (KSR) PMI Yogyakarta City also opened registration to be a volunteer. FREE Registration for candidates is open to the general public are eligible.*
