ALGIERS, March 19 (Reuters) - Algeria is on the path to political reforms and last month's lifting of a state of emergency is the first step, President Abdelaziz Bouteflika was quoted as saying by state media on Saturday.
The lifting of the state of emergency "will be a new page opened on the path to comprehensive reforms ... which cannot be fruitful in the absence of political reforms," the APS news agency quoted Bouteflika as saying.
