North Carolina approves Iberdrola wind farm project

WILMINGTON, N.C., May 3 (Reuters) - North Carolina regulators on Tuesday approved an application by a U.S. subsidiary of Spanish power company Iberdrola <IBE.MC> to build a 300-megawatt wind farm in the state's northeast.

It was the first commercial large-scale wind farm approved in the state by the North Carolina Utilities Commission. (Reporting by Jim Brumm; Editing by Pascal Fletcher and Maureen Bavdek)
