AMMAN, May 19 (Reuters) - Syrian troops and armoured vehicles began to pull out on Thursday from the town of Tel Kelakh near the border with Lebanon following mass pro-democracy protests, a witness said.
Dozens of buses loaded with soldiers and armoured personnel carriers left the town heading north at around noon, said the witness, a local resident who did not want to be identified.
"The army is largely gone. There are no security police on the streets, but they are still in and around their headquarters away from the centre of Tel Kelakh and they are still occupying the main hospital," the witness said.
