JUBA, May 26 (Reuters) - South Sudan on Thursday accused the northern army of moving thousands of people from the allied Misseriya tribe into the disputed Abyei region.
North Sudan on Saturday took control of Abyei, forcing tens of thousands to flee over the border to South Sudan and sparking an international outcry.
The northern army was now moving "thousands" of members of the Arab Misseriya tribe, which is supported by Khartoum, into villages of the southern Dinka Ngok tribe in Abyei, southern information minister Barnaba Benjamin told reporters.
