ADDIS ABABA, June 16 (Reuters) - The warring parties in Sudan's Southern Kordofan have agreed there should be a cessation of hostilities in the border state and that talks should start, former South African President Thabo Mbeki said on Thursday.
"Both sides have agreed that there should be a cessation of hostilities, and that negotiations should begin immediately. They've said they will discuss on certain modalities. The details can only be done within those negotiations," he told reporters after visiting Southern Kordofan. (Reporting by Aaron Maasho; Writing by Alex Dziadosz in Khartoum;; Editing by Jon Boyle)
