Aug 20 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 0800 GMT on Saturday.

HERAT - A remote control bomb planted in a motorcycle blew up near an army vehicle in the capital of western Herat province on Saturday, killing two Afghan soldiers and wounding eight more, Afghan National Army spokesman Khalilullah Khalili said. Three of the wounded are in critical condition, he said.

KANDAHAR - A bus crash killed 34 civilians and injured 24 in the Daman district of southern Kandahar province on Saturday, Zalai Ayobi, a spokesman for the Kandahar provincial governor said.

JALALABAD - An explosion in Jalalabad in the eastern Nangarhar province killed a National Directorate of Security official and wounded two of his bodyguards on Saturday, Jalalabad police detective Masom Khan said. An investigation is underway, he said.

SHIGI - Three policemen were killed and four more wounded in combat with insurgents in the Shigi area of the eastern Kunar province, Kunar Provincial Governor Fazlullah Wahidi said.

GHAZNI - A roadside mine killed three civilians and wounded two more in the central Ghazni province on Saturday, Ghazni Police Chief Dlawar Zahed said. (Compiled by Kabul bureau)
