Aug 22(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1330 GMT on Monday.

KABUL - Afghan security forces and troops from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) killed 16 insurgents, wounded one and detained 31 more over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.

HELMAND - Two civilians were killed and four more wounded when a mortar inside an old metal shop in a busy market of Grishk district of southern Helmand province detonated on Monday, Grishk police chief Saifullah Mangal said.

*KABUL - An improvised explosive device killed an ISAF service member in southern Afghanistan, ISAF said. ISAF did not identify the nationality of the dead soldier.

*GHAZI ABAD - Insurgents killed two Afghan soldiers who were headed home in civilian clothes in the Ghazi Abad district of the eastern Kunar province on Sunday, the Afghan Ministry of Defence said in a statement. (Compiled by Kabul bureau)
