Aug 23 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 0930 GMT on Tuesday.

KABUL - A service member from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed by a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan, the coalition said in a statement. It gave no other details.

KABUL - Afghan security forces and ISAF troops killed several insurgents from the al Qaeda-linked Haqqani network on Monday in the eastern Paktia province, the coalition said in a statement.

*HELMAND - Two insurgents were killed with sticks and stones by civilians in the southern Helmand province on Sunday, the Ministry of the Interior said in a statement.

The insurgents had killed an elder who was connected to the local government, the statement added.

*KABUL - Afghan security forces and ISAF troops killed 12 insurgents over the past 24 hours in operations across the country, the Ministry of the Interior said. (Compiled by Kabul bureau)
