* RAMADI - A suicide bomber blew himself up at a police checkpoint, killing three policemen and wounding five others, in a village east of Ramadi, 100 km (60 miles) west of Baghdad, a police source said.
* BAGHDAD - A bomb exploded in front of the house of Abdul Rahman Abu Raghif, a member of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's Dawa party, wounding six people including two of his sons, in the Zaafaraniya district of southeastern Baghdad, police and hospital sources said. Abu Raghif was not hurt.
BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb went off near an Iraqi army patrol, wounding a soldier and two civilians in Baghdad's central Alawi district, an interior ministry source said.
Another police source and a hospital source said four civilians and two soldiers were wounded in the explosion.
BAQUBA - The explosion of a roadside bomb killed one man and wounded seven others in a town near the city of Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) northeast of Baghdad, police said. The victims were working as drummers who awaken residents to eat before dawn prayers and before starting their daily Ramadan fast.
BAQUBA - Gunmen using silenced weapons opened fire and killed a soldier who was heading to work in a town near Baquba, police said.
BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb went off near a car carrying an off-duty policeman, wounding him in Baghdad's west-central Mansour district.
MOSUL - Gunmen killed a man in northern Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
MOSUL - A roadside bomb wounded a mother and her daughter in western Mosul, police said.
