Money lost through irregular engagement of contractors among other factors

Some 80 percent of $8 million given to Kenya’s ministry of water and the government-owned Tanathi Water Services Board was misused, according to an internal audit, the Daily Nation newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Money was lost through irregular engagement of contractors, goods that were paid for but never delivered and irregular borrowing.
