Case centres on building of an athletes' village for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games which Indonesia is hosting
The Jakarta Corruption Court has sentenced an ex-employee of former ruling party treasurer and graft suspect Muhammad Nazaruddin, to two-and-a-half years in jail for bribing a public official, the Jakarta Post reported.
Mindo Rosalina “Rosa” Manulang, who worked for Nazaruddin was found guilty of violating the law on corruption, the newspaper quoted presiding judge Suwidya as saying.
“We sentence her to two years and six months in prison and order her to pay a fine of 200 million rupiah ($22,740) fine or serve another six months in prison.” Suwidya said.
The case centred on the construction of an athletes’ village for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games which Indonesia is hosting. The Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry commissioned the project.
