The husband used to beat and parade his wife naked when drunk, newspaper reports

NEW DELHI (TrustLaw) - A 45-year-old Indian woman hired contract killers to murder her abusive husband who used to beat her and parade her naked in public, the Hindustan Times  reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, Kaushal Singh - a mother of six from Ghaziabad town, near the capital New Delhi - paid 10,000 rupees ($200) to have her husband, Raj Kumar Singh, killed.

Investigations found that the killers beat the man to death before packing his body in a bag and dumping it in a river.

"My husband used to beat me under the influence of alcohol. He even tore my clothes and made me parade naked on the streets. After such torture, I went to my in-laws and planned the murder," Singh was quoted as saying.

Police have arrested the woman and her brother-in-law, but four other suspects have absconded, said the report.
