More than 11.4 trillion VND ($545.7 million) of state funds were found to have been misappropriated between October and July, Thanh Nien News reported, citing a report by the Government Inspectorate.
The embezzlement involved 409 people who have been tried, the Inspectorate said, adding that while the war on corruption has made progress, it is still “critical” and “complicated.”
The report was submitted to the National Assembly’s Standing Committee.
