NEW DELHI (TrustLaw) - A woman and her daughter have been stoned to death by a group of men in Afghanistan, accused of "moral deviation and adultery", the BBC reported on Friday.
Security officials blamed the Taliban for the attack in Ghazni city, adding that the woman, a widow, and her daughter were taken out of their home by the armed men who then stoned them to death.
"Neighbours did not help or inform the authorities on time," an official was quoted as saying.
A number of religious leaders in the city have been issuing fatwas or Islamic religious edicts asking people to report anyone who was "involved in adultery".
Two men had been arrested in connection with the murders, the report said.
