ISTANBUL, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Turkey will conduct border trade to the Middle East via new border gates with Iraq if violence worsens in neighbouring Syria, Transport Minister Binali Yildirim was quoted as saying on Tuesday by state-run Anatolian news agency.

Turkey is expected to follow the Arab League in imposing sanctions on Syria, with which it has an 800-km (500 mile) border. Yildirim said the sanctions would not harm the Syrian people. (Writing by Daren Butler; Editing by Simon Cameron-Moore)
