The "Lives of Transgender People" is published by Columbia University Press
Transgender people in the United States face bias, violence, and social and economic barriers despite a growing rights movement, a recent survey highlights.
Released in November by Columbia University Press, a book called “The Lives of Transgender People,” presents the findings of the survey of nearly 3,500 participants.
The findings of authors Genny Beemyn and Susan Rankin “expose the kinds of discrimination and harassment experienced by participants in the U.S. and the psychological toll of living in secrecy and fear,” the publisher said on its website
