KUWAIT, Dec 1 (Reuters) - Kuwait on Thursday urged its citizens to leave Syria, where a government crackdown on months of popular demonstrations has killed more than 3,500 people, the state news agency KUNA said.
The agency said the foreign ministry issued the directive to Kuwaitis in Syria "to ensure their safety". The consular department at the foreign ministry also advised Kuwaitis to refrain from visiting Syria at this time due to lack of security, the agency said.
