* QUETTA - Gunmen on a motorcycle killed three Shi'ite Muslims in a suspected sectarian attack in the southwestern province of Baluchistan, police said.
Pakistan has been bracing for sectarian violence during Moharram, the holiest month for Shi'ite Muslims, which is underway. Sunni militant groups often attack Shi'ite gatherings during this period.
ORAKZAI - Pakistani helicopter gunships attacked three suspected militant hideouts in the northwestern tribal region of Orakzai on Wednesday, killing six insurgents, security officials in the region said. There was no confirmation of the account and militants often dispute official accounts.
KALAT - Gunmen set fire to a NATO tanker in the southwestern Baluchistan province on Wednesday, police said. The tanker was carrying fuel for NATO forces fighting the Taliban insurgency in neighbouring Afghanistan. Militants have torched hundreds of NATO trucks and tankers in a bid to choke supplies.
