Hello! We at TrustMedia hope you all had a happy and healthy Easter break! The staff here at the Thomson Reuters Foundation surely did- now we’re back and working hard. Here’s what’s been going on.

It’s been a week of hellos and goodbyes. TrustMedia welcomed Ellen Kandororo from the Zimbabwe Electoral Support Network (ZESN) into the office until next week. Ellen is an expert on the elections in Zimbabwe and is helping the team develop future projects.

TrustMedia also enthusiastically welcomed the arrival of a swanky new Mac desktop computer, fully loaded with the latest Apple technology.

Unfortunately, this week, TrustMedia is saying goodbye to our American intern Emily, who is heading back to the States to continue her studies at her university. She’s been a great help with keeping our website and social media up-to-date and provided some media content as well.

Check out the alumni videos she put together from recent journalism training courses.

Speaking of past courses, the Foundation just wrapped one up two weeks ago in London. It was taught by the talented duo Robert Hart & Mathieu Robbins and featured 13 journalists from around the world, including Russia, Tunisia, Nigeria, Myanmar, Hong Kong, Egypt, Vietnam, South Africa, Romania, Lebanon and the United States.

Watch a video of the participants talk about their experiences here. Look out for Hussein Mohamed, a journalist working for our partner website on elections in Egypt, Aswat Masriya.

We have some exciting trips coming up as well. Our own Will Church is shipping off to Hong Kong to speak to our partners organizing a “Health Reporting” course. He’ll be missed, but we’ll probably get more work done without him here. Just kidding, of course! We hope to see him back safely quite soon.

That’s it for us! As always, check our website for updates on media training courses available, as deadlines are fast-approaching. Here’s a quick list of the courses currently accepting applications:
