KHARTOUM, April 14 (Reuters) - Sudan's army has entered the disputed Heglig area, which South Sudan seized this week, and is engaging the south's forces just kilometers from Heglig's town and oilfield, Sudan's military spokesman said on Saturday.

"We are now in Heglig region a few kilometers from Heglig town and oilfield," spokesman Al-Sawarmi Khalid told reporters, adding that fighting was continuing. There was no immediate comment from South Sudanese officials.
