LONDON (Trust.org) – Thomson Reuters Foundation received two commendations at Britain's prestigious Online Media Awards 2012 – the latest in a spate of honours for the charitable arm of Thomson Reuters.
The Online Media Awards, which seek to recognise the best in online news and journalism, commended the Foundation for its AlertNet humanitarian news service in the "best designed site" category and for The Egyptian Revolution multimedia trilogy in the "best video journalism" category.
The commendations come a week after the Foundation took a top prize at the British Charity Awards for TrustLaw Connect, a free legal service for NGOs and social enterprises. Other honours in recent months include a commendation for TrustMedia by the GBC Health Awards and selection of AlertNet Climate by the 16th Annual Webby Awards as an Official Honouree in the Green category.
