A small, Vermont-based organization is making a big humanitarian impact-- and the rest of the world is beginning to take notice. Fresh off being honored at the White House as a “Champion of Change”, Pure Water for the World (PWW) has been selected for a Stay Classy Award for excellence in the field of humanitarian and disaster relief. As a regional finalist, PWW now enters a public voting and judging process to advance to the national judging round.
PWW has already assisted so many in the developing world, and now the organization is reaching out to others for help. Advancing to the next round would significantly boost awareness of the need for PWW’s life-saving work. The public has until July 26th to vote.
The Pure Water for the World Mission:
Pure Water for the World, uses a combination of point-of-source water purification technology and long term training to provide safe water, hygiene education and sanitation to approximately 490,000 individuals in rural, underserved regions of Latin America and the Caribbean. PWW works with communities rather than for them to build local participation and ensure safe water and sanitation practices are permanent. Consistent access to safe water, and the implementation of hygienic practices, is proven to save more lives than traditional medical intervention.
Water as Medicine:
"Think of clean water as medicine," said Carolyn Meub, Executive Director of Pure Water for the World and White House Champion of Change recipient. "Our work has improved the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of people. Winning this award will help us reach more families, more schools and more children with clean water, a resource that most of us take for granted, but one we all so desperately need."
Please support PWW by casting your vote today at http://www.stayclassy.org/classy-awards/vote. Please select the East region, and scroll to the bottom of the web page to the final category, “Disaster Relief and International Aid”, to vote for PWW. We would ask that you encourage friends and family to also be advocates for clean water, hygiene education and sanitation by voting and sharing with others.
