KHARTOUM, Aug 1 (Reuters) - Eight people were killed in clashes between police and protesters in Sudan's Darfur region on Tuesday, police said.
Police, who earlier reported six dead, said 24 officers were injured, three of them seriously, in clashes in Nyala, Darfur's biggest town, according to a police statement carried by state news agency SUNA. (Reporting by Ulf Laessing; Editing by Michael Roddy)
