Welcome to another TrustMedia weekly update.  This is the first full week of the Olympics, and we’re all pretty excited.  The opening ceremonies were of course, widely discussed in the office and the consensus is that we liked it!  Between Mr. Bean, Mary Poppins and the tribute to the NHS, it was definitely a UK themed show!  Different members of the team are going to different events, and we’re all supporting Team GB.  Thus far our team has seen the dress rehearsal of the Opening Ceremony and basketball, but by the end, the TrustMedia team will have also seen athletics, beach volleyball, football, canoeing, judo and many other sports.   The Olympics have brought some change ups, as some members of our team are working in a different office due to the Tube delays, and we may have a little TV set up to watch some events so we can watch Team GB go for gold, just as the women’s rowing and Rebecca Addlington did in swimming just this morning.

If you’re in London, or just interested in sports reporting, you should check out our hand book, specifically written for the Olympics and sports.  You can find it here.  We also launched our new video project last week with a special clip on how to make the most of your Olympic coverage.   There are ten simple steps to help you become a better reporter, so you should watch the new video.

Aside from the Olympics, we’re in a bit of a quiet spell in the office.  People are taking holidays, and trying to enjoy the few days of summer London has to offer.  But coming up in August we are offering a TV News Reporting course in Lima, and things will start speeding up in the fall, back to our usual racing around.

We do have a brand new Trainer’s Blog from Mathieu Robbins, who ran our news writing and reporting course in Bangladesh recently.  The TrustMedia team ran our first ever course in Myanmar, and we have some blogs from that on the website.  We also have several new alumni blogs from our Financial and Economic reporting course in Johannesburg.   Read all our blogs here.
