PESHAWAR, Pakistan, Dec 17 (Reuters) - At least 12 people were killed on Monday when a blast struck a market area in Pakistan's volatile tribal belt, a security official said.

The official said at least 20 people had been wounded in the blast in Fauji Market in the Khyber tribal agency and that the death toll could rise because many were in a critical condition. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
