Iranian state TV says at least 40 dead in quake

ANKARA, April 16 (Reuters) - Iranian state television said at least 40 people were killed when a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the Islamic state near the border with Pakistan on Tuesday.

"There is no official confirmation but we are getting reports of 40 killed in the area," TV reported. (Writing by Parisa Hafezi; Editing by Janet Lawrence)
