Funeral for female politician gunned down in Pakistan

Mourners arriving for the funeral of Zara Hussain. A politician from the reformist PTI party, she was gunned down outside of her Karachi home.

Former cricket star and PTI party leader Imran Kahn blamed the killing on the rival MQM party.

SOUNDBITE: Imran Kahn, PTI party leader saying (Urdu):

"Whatever happens, I am standing firm against this murder because it is not the first time it has happened. It has happened several times before. They wait outside the house of their target just like they did with Zahra Hussein. I hold them responsible."

MQM denied responsibility and has condemned the killing.

Sixty-year-old Hussain was murdered in the same neighborhood where Benazir Butto, the assassinated former prime minister's family has a home.

Her killing capped a bloody election campaign in which around 150 people were killed nationwide.
