PRAGUE, June 13 (Reuters) - Czech police detained the director of Prime Minister Petr Necas's office and several other people in overnight raids, Czech media reported on Thursday.
A spokesman for the police's organised crime unit confirmed that the unit was involved in an operation but refused to provide any details.
"I can only say that a (plan) is being executed, so at this time we cannot provide any information," Pavel Hantak told Reuters.
Necas's centre-right cabinet has won plaudits for freeing the hand of prosecutors to investigate corruption, but has also suffered a series of scandals itself since it took power in 2010.
Among the detained was the head of Necas's office Jana Nagyova, who has been the prime minister's close associate for many years, according to reports by the Czech Television and the online version of the largest Czech mainstream daily Mlada fronta Dnes.
