Gas explosion in Washington Parish, Louisiana -sheriff

June 18 (Reuters) - The sheriff's office in Washington Parish, Louisiana, said its officers and other first responders were on the scene of an explosion early Tuesday.

The dispatchers at the sheriff's office could not offer more details about the event.

Local media said a gas line or gas plant explosion occurred early Tuesday morning on Lee Road in the town of Enon, about 80 miles north of New Orleans.
