Egypt minister survives assassination attempt-state media

CAIRO, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Egypt's interior minister survived an assassination attempt on Thursday when a car bomb exploded near his convoy, state media reported.

The state-run Nile TV reported that Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim had survived an assassination attempt. In a separate report, the state-run Al-Ahram newspaper said that a car bomb had exploded near his convoy. (Writing by Tom Perry; editing by Mike Collett-White)
