ISLAMABAD, Sept 15 (Reuters) - A roadside bomb killed a Pakistani general and another officer on Sunday near the border with Afghanistan, the Pakistani army said.
Pakistani Taliban insurgents fighting the government to impose Islamist rule often attack soldiers in the area but rarely kill officers of such high rank.
The major general and a lieutenant colonel were killed in the Upper Dir district after visiting an outpost near the border.
