ChildFund International is raising funds in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan. ChildFund works in 24 provinces, including the poorest 500 barangays (villages), 42 municipalities and 15 cities in the Philippines. Our supported communities include Ormoc, in one of the hardest-hit provinces, Leyte. The organization has been in the country since 1954.

While support teams assess needs in the hardest-hit areas, the organization is distributing clean water, food and other household items.

ChildFund also is in the process of setting up child-centered spaces in evacuation centers to provide counsel and relief to children and families affected by Super Typhoon Haiyan. The spaces allow for normalizing activities, like playing and interacting with other children, as well as carefully crafted activities that allow children to express themselves and soothe the stress and trauma of recent experiences.
