ISTANBUL, Dec 17 (Reuters) - Turkish police detained 18 people including well-known businessmen on Tuesday in an investigation into alleged bribery linked to public tenders, Turkish media reported.
Police carried out dawn raids in Istanbul and the operation was expected to spread to other areas, Hurriyet newspaper said on its website.
Broadcaster NTV said some of those detained were bureaucrats.
Police declined to comment on the reports.
