Television journalists from five Middle Eastern countries gathered in Jordan this month to attend a course on producing television news.

Reporters, camera operators and editors from TV channels, including Al Arabiya, joined freelances, for the five-day course in the Jordanian capital Amman.

The course was taught by former Reuters Editor of Television Production, Lloyd Watson, who now works as a UK-based international media consultant, and Dina Saad, Assistant Director Professional Development at The American University in Cairo.

The journalists from Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and the Palestinian Territories, spent the week studying and discussing all aspects of video news production including news gathering, camerawork, scripting, editing and appearing on camera.

They also enjoyed a question and answer session with Reuters Senior Producer for the region, Khaled Al Ramahi.
The week’s lectures and exercises were based on the Foundation's highly popular and successful Making Video News course, which has been taught to thousands of TV journalists worldwide.
