December 8, 2014, Silver Spring, MD – Global Communities today announced the appointment of William Stacy Rhodes, former Chief of Staff of the Peace Corps, to its Board of Trustees.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Mr. Rhodes to the Board of Global Communities,” said Robert A. Mosbacher, Jr., Chairman of the Global Communities Board of Trustees. “His expansive experience in international development, with USAID, Peace Corps and the Millennium Challenge Corporation will be invaluable to our work with underserved communities.”
From 1978 to 2001, Mr. Rhodes worked as a career foreign service officer at the U.S. Agency for International Development. He served as mission director in South Africa (1998-2001) and for Guatemala and Central American programs (1994-1998). He also directed the Office of Central American Affairs in the Latin American and Caribbean Bureau and served in Haiti, Morocco, and Nepal. Earlier in his career, Mr. Rhodes served as an attorney at the Department of State and in private practice at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver, and Kampelman.
